Qué tal?, qué pasa, hola, qué más, y buenas mis amigos. What is up my friends. Much has happened this week, but I will try to keep this one short so I don’t lose my fan base too fast.  Let me know how you guys are doing and if you have any out of the box missionary ideas. Also, I wanna know cool ways I could format my emails let me know! I will try to switch it up every week.

The Dance of the Cucumber-

In the grand at home CCM (MTC) experience you are exposed to all of the media your family watches, but (unfortunately) you cannot partake as a missionary. Consequently, you want to get you hands on any media that comes your way. So, I started watching this Veggie Tales Silly Songs with Larry called the Dance of the Cucumber. Half of it is in Spanish, so my dad and I both stared snickering and laughing like two teenagers that just saw something mildly inappropriate. Super stupid, but that is what I have been reduced to. Just watch it.

Knowledge vs Faith-

I focused my gospel study toward gaining a better witness of the simple things of the Gospel. I think that at the moment my testimony consists of more faith than knowledge, and I desire to be as the brother of Jared and have my faith give way to knowledge in so much that I do not need faith in certain things. I decided I would read the Book of Mormon lethally the next 3 days and conclude this by fasting for 4 straight meals. It was my desire to show God that I was serious about this. I finished the majority of the Book of Alma, Helaman, and 3 Nephi by the end of my fast, but ultimately received no lightning strikes, undeniable spiritual moments, or visions (which woulda been sick). I do think that I felt a small flicker of peace as I read the scriptures as well as my understanding of the gospel greatly increase. Nevertheless, I maintain my faith in Christ and will continue to seek because Christ has said, “seek and yea shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you”. In Gods time, I will gain an unshakable and firm witness of the simple truths of the gospel.

Rappin fur Jesus-

Im talking on Zoom and hear a BUM, CHH, BUM, CHH, BUM, CHH from down stairs. I begin to listen intently and start to hear a melodic (mas o menos) voice sing “Vi una columna de luz… Mas brillante que el sol…”. It was Lincoln and Bryson rapping the first vision in Spanish. Porque? Yo no sé. (check out the recording below)

La Llorona-

I discovered the Latin American myth of La Llorona the other day. There is a lot of different genres of the story depending on who your talking to, but the general idea is this…

This women had two children, but something shady went down with her husband once she had the children (depends which story). This drives her to drown her two children and then later herself. Now she walks the earth searching for her children, but often can be found leading other children to the water.  IK SUPER SPOOKY! Naturally, I read this right before I went to bed and started freaking out when I turned off the lights. Eventually, I said a prayer and turned on some church music in order to get my mind off it. How is that for a testimony builder? There is actually a really pretty song about it. Go check it out.

I love all you guys. Give me a shout! I have faith in Jesus Christ. In my heart I know this is the right path for me.  The question that we all have to ask yourselves is what are we willing to do to know the TRUTH?

Love,
Elder Rouse
